The Sydney Threshold Choir is Australia’s first Threshold Choir and is one of the newest chapters. Since the Threshold Choir’s inception in 2000 there are now more than 100 chapters of the choir, and the Sydney choir is the first outside the US and Canada. As the choir’s founder Kate Munger, a primary school teacher, has said her goal was to “make kindness audible” to some of our society’s most vulnerable. Colleen Kennedy, co-founder of the Sydney chapter, talks about her journey to the choir and alternatives approach to death in this article from the Sydney Morning Herald titled “The last waltz” by Samantha Selinger-Morris.
