Exploring Paradoxes of Aging

  • Wednesday, July 25th from 6:30-8:00pm
  • Treff Cafe, AgeSong at Bayside Park, Emeryville

The experience of aging often presents paradoxes that reflect inconsistent truths as we navigate our later years. One example of a paradox is My time is here limited / I have all the time that I need. Elizabeth Bugethal describes paradoxes among elders in her book of poetry Love Fills in the Blanks: Paradoxes of Our Final Years. In this talk, we will explore paradoxes of aging and learn to name some of our own paradoxes. AgeSong intern Kirti Patel and psychology professor Betty Goren will demonstrate how acknowledging multiple sides of a paradox can increase interconnection and balance in your life. All are welcome to join this fascinating discussion!
