Two of the Bay Areas premiere organizations serving older adults are joining hands to create The AgeSong Cafe, an exciting new space for creativity, culture, food, and community in the heart of San Francisco’s hip Hayes Valley. Located at 602 Hayes, the corner of Hayes and Laguna streets, the cafe is close to edgy fashion boutiques, SoHo-style funky art galleries, high-end interior-decorating shops, top-notch restaurants and hip nightspots. It fills a missing link in this trendy community by inviting individuals at any age or stage to learn and grow together in a dynamic cafe environment.
AgeSong, a provider of assisted living communities in the Bay Area since 1995, has created a relational model of working and caring with elders, emphasizing a non-pathological, non-disease model of elderhood. The model redefines aging as a time of freedom to grow, be, and teach the young the wisdom of aging, no matter what the circumstances.
