G. Allen Power, MD is Eden Mentor at St. John’s Home in Rochester, NY, and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester. He is a board certified internist and geriatrician, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians / American Society for Internal Medicine.

Dr. Power is a Certified Eden Alternative® Educator and a member of the Eden Alternative board of directors. He has lectured on dementia and other elder care topics throughout the US, in Canada, the UK, Denmark, Singapore and Malta. In 2007 Dr. Power participated in a CMS webcast teaching culture change principles to nursing home surveyors. He was an expert consultant to New York’s Quality Improvement Organization for CMS’ Eighth Scope of Work program on culture change and depression, their Ninth Scope of Work program on restraint removal, and will be consulting on the Tenth Scope of Work as well. Sarah Rowan whispers directly into the hearts of all who hear her.  She shares her wisdom, humor, insight and love in every message.  Sarah believes that adversaries are opportunities to grow in embracing life.  She imbued this philosophy into her teachings in the U.S. and abroad and in caring for her beloved husband as he slipped too quickly into the gray, misty spiral of Alzheimer’s and as she survived her own intimate encounter with breast cancer. Sarah presently serves on the Eden Alternative Board of Directors, The South Carolina Alzheimer’s Board of Directors, and the Pinion Institute.

Nader Robert Shabahangi, Ph.D.,  is a licensed psychotherapist, businessman, author,  publisher, and advocate for marginalized groups of society.  He has led anticipatory bereavements groups for Coming  Home Hospice; founded the Pacific Institute to train psychotherapists in a multicultural, humanistic approach to counseling  and to provide affordable therapy services to the many diverse groups in San Francisco; and developed an innovative Gerontological Wellness Program to provide emotional and mental health care services for the elderly.
